Featuring the high performance DisplayLink DL-5500 chipset, the Plugable UGA-4KDP USB to DisplayPort adapter allows you to connect an additional monitor up to 3840x2160 at 30Hz (4K/UHD/2160p) through a simple USB 3.0 connection. It's an ideal solution when your computer's built-in video ports are already occupied, providing a convenient way to expand your screen space for improved productivity. For multi-monitor configurations, each display requires its own adapter. A dual-display docking station can also be paired with two additional UGA-4KDP adapters to support a total of four displays, or you can choose to use four UGA-4KDP adapters independently for a similar multi-monitor setup. This modular approach lets you expand your workspace gradually while maintaining consistent performance across all screens.
Drivers are available for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7, XP, and macOS 10.14 and later. It supports Intel, M1 (Pro, Max), M2 (Pro, Max), M3 (Pro, Max), M4 (Pro, Max), and M5 Macs using the DisplayLink Manager Application available on Plugable's website. For best results, ensure your system's GPU and USB 3.0 host controller drivers are fully up to date. This display port to USB is also compatible with USB-C systems when paired with a USB-C to USB-A adapter, sold separately.
The adapter supports DisplayPort monitors up to 3840x2160 at 30Hz, with 3440x1440 at 50Hz, and 2560x1440, 2560x1080, and 1920x1080 (1080p) resolutions at 60Hz. A DisplayPort cable is required. 4K/UHD output requires a compatible 4K monitor. The USB displaylink adapter does not support HDCP-protected playback and is not recommended for gaming, video editing, or rendering applications. Video playback at 1080p and above requires software that supports GPU acceleration.
